What does Tru-Edge Grinding do?

Tru-Edge Grinding regrinds & manufactures round shank cutting tools for the automotive, medical, woodworking and machine shops.

What do you regrind?

Tru-Edge Grinding regrinds just about anything. We regrind boring bars, chasers, counterbores, countersinks, dies, gundrills, helical point drills, bickford point drills, racon point drills, masonary drills, spot drills, standard point drills, split point drills, performance drills, step drills, spade drills, core drills, center drills, standard endmill, ballnose endmills, corner round endmills, dovetail endmills, roughing endmills, finishing endmills, engravers, form cutters, forstner bits, gear hobs, keyseat cutters, lathe bits, meat cutters, mold cutters, mill cutters, planer blades, port tools, punches, reamers, roto broaches, router bits, shaper cutters, spur bits, taps and specials. We regrind from the complex to the very simple, small lots to very large lots. We handle regrind programs that are fine tuned to meet the customer needs. If there is something we can't regrind, we have partnered services that we are able to rely upon.
 

Can anyone buy direct from Tru-Edge Grinding?

Yes, Tru-Edge Grinding handles both distributors and direct customers. Give us a call, and we'll be happy to set you up as a new customer and answer any detailed questions.

What is your turnaround time?

Turnaround time for regrinds is about two weeks.  If you want us to recoat your tools then it is about three weeks.  Special manufactured tools are quoted on a per special basis, normally in the 6-12 week time frame.  This is very dependent on our suppliers and how soon they can get the needed materials to us.

What if I need to have something done in a hurry?

Not a problem. Tru-Edge Grinding offers a premium service. You can get your regrind tools turned around in about a 48-hour time span. This does not include sending out to recoat. This is also dependent on machine time and does have an extra cost added. Call ahead and we can work out those details. Special manufactured tools again are dependent on materials needed. We can certainly work with you on your emergency situations.

Do you handle recoating needs?

Yes, we offer in-house PVD hard surface coatings utilizing industry leading Platit AG LARC technology. This state-of-the art equipment enables us to produce high-quality coatings with excellent accuracy and longevity and features the best cleaning operation available on the market today.

What if I am unsatisfied or find a problem with my tools when they are returned to me?

We guarantee that the tools will be reground to original specifications or to your specific print. We also guarantee that they will perform as close to a new tool as possible. If there is a problem with your tools and we were at fault, we will rework at no additional charge.

Are you capable of manufacturing a tool to meet my specific need?

Yes. We have the capability and engineering expertise to basically reverse-engineer your tooling needs. You show us the part that you are to produce, and we can work with you to get a tool that can produce that part. Prototype work is a field that we specialize and excel in. Tru-Edge Grinding also has the ability to analyze your tooling needs. We can possibly eliminate multiple setups with your machine operations and manufacture a specific tool to handle those setups.
