Tru-Edge Grinding was founded in 1993 by Tim Knapke. Mr. Knapke started Tru-Edge while working full-time in the tool regrind department at a progressive CNC-oriented manufacturing facility. Original Tru-Edge Grinding customers were small, local manufacturing shops who required basic sharpening of drills, endmills, saw blades, etc. Working out of his "barn out back," Tim developed a loyal following of people who consistently commented on the quality of his sharpening skills.

In 1996, realizing the growing demand by industry to outsource cutting tool regrinds, and wanting to work full-time to expand the Tru-Edge Grinding business, Tim partnered with a regional specialty cutting tool distributor to offer innovative tool regrind programs.

Through this partnership, Tru-Edge Grinding grew into the tri-state¹s leading provider of cutting tool regrind services, offering a selection of tailored tool regrinding programs to customers in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
