Federal Firearms License FFL-07

Tru-Edge Grinding recently received their FFL-07, Federal Firearms License, specifically for Manufacturers of Firearms other than Destructive Devices. This action was in response to a customer request. A request that came about due to the extended life this manufacturer experienced with their stamping tooling components using the advanced PVD coatings now offered through Tru-Edge.

Tru-Edge Grinding purchases 2 new ANCA FX7 machines with robotic loaders

Tru-Edge Grinding is pleased to announce the purchase of (2) new ANCA FX7 machines with robotic loaders. One of these machines will include a new laser measuring system – a system that will allow tool measuring within the machine envelope.

Tru-Edge Grinding has introduced new PVD hard surface coatings to improve performance of tooling for the metal forming, metal stamping, metal bending and fine blanking operations. Our platform includes five coating types: traditional TiN used on injection mold / guide pin components to TICN-MP™ for forming and stamping tools to Tru-Edge’s advanced CYBER-Coat MP™, Tru-PLEX™ and FeinAL® coatings. These surface enhancing thin film coatings offer superior dependability for wear protection of tool components and extend their useful life.

Earlier this year Tru-Edge Grinding installed its third Platit PVD coating vessel – a Π411. We now offer PVD coating technologies that extend cutting tool life in difficult to machine materials, allow tools to run faster and increase part throughput, and improve performance of engineered special tools and reground tools. Two new “quad” coatings we have introduced are TiXCo® (TiN –nACo-ML – TiSiN) and ALL4® (AlCrTiN).

Recently, one of the owners and two members of top management staff of Tru-Edge Grinding took a trip to Augsburg, Germany for the international GrindTec show. The show focuses on all things cutter grinding, which is Tru-Edge’s core competency. It was a nice opportunity to network with others in the tooling industry, visit with existing contacts and reach out to potential suppliers and customers as well as being able to see and touch all of the cutting edge technology, coming to market.

CIM: What is a ballbar?
